WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Your First Alert Weather Team is tracking storm Lorenzo in the Atlantic.  The system is not expected to impact any North American landmass.

THE LATEST ON LORENZO: As of Monday afternoon the National Hurricane Center has designated Tropical storm Lorenzo in the Atlantic Ocean.  The system is not anticipated to move toward the US. The system is producing 40 mph winds, and will likely move northeasterly for the next several days.

THE FORECAST FOR LORENZO: The system will move over the open Atlantic without any impact on-shore.  This, further evidence that the dynamics in the Atlantic are still primed for the possibility of tropical development.
