Big turnout for Thomas the Train Engine

CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

In Cordele, "Thomas the Tank" Engine made a special appearance this weekend.

If you missed his visit this, don't worry he'll be back in Cordele next weekend. Families get to ride in the famous engine, and enjoy other activities at the Georgia Veterans State Park. Thomas makes a twenty minute ride down the track. This is the only stop Thomas the Tank Engine makes in Georgia each year.

"Johnny has always loved Thomas since the day he was born and today was a surprise, he didn't know where he was going. Mama bought us tickets to drive all the way up here, three hours to come see Thomas, said John Smith, visiting from Florida.

Well for the little kids it's seeing Thomas in real life size, when they come around that hill to where the train is parked, you can hear the little kids scream, "Oh there's Thomas", said Terry Miller.

The cost is $15.12 - $22.68, Under 2 - free. There is an opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway.

You can buy tickets at www.samshortline.com or www.ticketweb.com
