ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Saturday, friends and family gathered together to remember Leesburg resident Robert Patton.

Dozens of bikers gathered at Harvey's supermarket in East Albany for a memorial ride to remember Patton who died a year ago. Patton was shot and killed by Johnny Anthony Allen last October. The family says Robert was protecting a woman from Allen when he was shot in the chest. Now that Robert is gone, everyone is coming together to remember the good things about him and to celebrate who they say was a great person.

"Just to remember him. He was an amazing person. It's amazing all the people that love him and still remember him and they're willing to come out and show support for him and how much he was loved," said Robert Patton's daughter.

His family and friends rode from Harvey's to a cemetery in Leesburg where Patton is buried.
