Police in search of West Point money snatcher

WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) -

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed aconvenience store on Thursday evening, Oct. 17.

The suspect reportedly acted as though he was purchasing adrink. When the cash register opened, he leaned over the counter, took anundetermined amount of money and fled the store.

He then drove east on Hwy 18 in a black 2010 Nissan Versadisplaying a Georgia tag.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'11",approximately 150 lbs., mid 40s, with black hair, receding hair line, browneyes, and light skin. He was wearing a white shirt with a brown design on theleft upper portion of the shirt, black pants and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the identity and location ofthe suspect should call the West Point Police Department Criminal InvestigativeDivision at 706-645-3551, or Crime Stoppers at 334-756-8200.

    Despite the scattered showers, we saw Saturday some people just couldn't resist hitting the water. In the morning, the Kinchafoonee Creek was at a good water level for boaters.
