SCMPD continue investigation of suspicious death off Duffy Lane - WALB.com, South Georgia News, Weather, Sports

Duffy Lane body identified

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to a call around 8 a.m. on Saturday off the 900 block of East Duffy Lane to a body found.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are conducting the death investigation of a 26-year-old Savannah man on Saturday morning.

Audie Walker Murphy was found dead behind the New Covenant Holiness Church by a neighbor.

SCMPD has not released the cause of death but neighbors say they heard a gunshot early Saturday morning. 

Investigation is still underway. Stay with WTOC as we will continue to update the story as soon as more information is released. 

Metro Violent Crimes detectives are asking anyone who has information on the death to please come forward by contacting Metro Homicide at (912) 525-3124 or Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters to Crimestoppers remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
