LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Gym class was slightly different at Twin Oaks Elementary School Friday afternoon.

Students, faculty and family members participated in the fifth annual TOES on the road event to promote exercise and good health.

Dr. Jason Miller, the principal of Twin oaks Elementary School said he came up with the idea when he was diagnosed with diabetes.

"It's a running walking event that we host each year to promote physical fitness and good health with our students and our families and so we call it TOES on the road TOES Twin Oaks Elementary School and we get the kids out and we spend about three hours running and walking," said Dr. Jason Miller Principal at Twin Oaks Elementary School.

Their goal was to reach three-thousand miles and encourage students to run at least four-laps.
