Albany State students meet and learn life lessons from those who came before them.
Thursday afternoon, the university held a homecoming reunion to allow current students a chance to get to know alumni who attended Albany State 50 years ago.
One ASU student says without those former students, current students wouldn't be where they are today.
"It's actually an honor and a privilege to meet a legacy here at ASU, because if wasn't for these alumni we wouldn't be here as well," said Shenelle Forde, ASU student.
Fridays homecoming events include a convocation, a dean's reception, and a fish fry. The parade begins at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. The football game kicks off at 2 PM.
