Banks across the state are supporting Georgia Peanut farmers. Georgia Peanut Banking Week recognizes peanut farmers with financial institutions.

330 banks across the state are taking part in events to recognize peanut farmers. Organizers with the Georgia Peanut Commission say they are pleased so many banks are participating.

"It's very exciting that they recognize the importance of agriculture and to their community and we are the largest agricultural industry in the state of Georgia, and we are very pleased with it," said Marcus Evans.

Georgia Peanut Banking week has been around for 37 years.
