Police seize marijuana, cash from traffic stop

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Two people are facing charges after Albany Police found five large bags of marijuana inside a car during a traffic stop.

Katavia Hubbard, 32, and Gary Hubbard Jr., 32, are charged with Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, driving with a suspended registration, and possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a park.

Police say they pulled over a Cadillac Deville in the 800 block of Willie Pitts Jr. Road.

A report says the officer immediately smelled marijuana coming from the car. Additional units were called and Police searched the car, revealing five bags of marijuana and more than $500 in cash in the front seat.

The case has been turned over to the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit for further investigation.
