Traffic Alert: Car overturns on Liberty Expressway

PUTNEY, GA -

Dougherty County Police, Georgia State Patrol and EMS are on the scene of a crash with injuries on Liberty Expressway and McKenzie Road in Putney.

Witnesses tell us a green Dodge Ram pulled out in front of a black Chevrolet Silverado causing the truck to overturn. Witnesses also say children were inside one of the vehicles. Some passengers were taken to the hospital and we do not know their conditions just yet.

It happened around 7:10am in the southbound lane of the bypass near Antioch Road. Witnesses who called 911 reported that at least one person may have been trapped in the overturned vehicle. This is an active investigation and we will bring you updates as we get them.

Drivers traveling in the area are urged to slow down.
