ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An area mentoring program held their "Mad Hatter" luncheon at Albany Technical College Saturday.

The Lee County Female Minority Mentoring program is a debutante program for high school juniors and seniors in Lee County. The mad hatter luncheon is a way to introduce debutantes to the community. At today's luncheon members introduced three new high school girls.

"It's very important for our young ladies to have someone close by that they can actually touch and feel and ask those important questions, "How did you get to where you are right now", said Valerie Williams, President of The Lee County Female Minority Mentoring program

Our own Karla Heath Sands, is part of the program. She gave a solo performance  and sang "You are the wind beneath my wings".

To learn more about the Lee County Female Minority Mentoring program contact Valerie Williams at 229-886-0647.
