COLUMBIA, SC (TheBigSpur.com) South Carolina moved up three spots in the latest Associated Press Poll released Sunday morning.

The Gamecocks, ranked No. 11 in the new poll, notched a 52-7 victory on Saturday against Arkansas on the road.

The Gamecocks (5-1, 3-1) have been ranked 55 consecutive weeks in the poll, which extends their school record-long streak. South Carolina is tied with Stanford for fifth-longest current streak of being ranked in the AP Top 25.

Head coach Steve Spurrier and his team will return to game action this Saturday, October 19 at Tennessee, which is the second game of a three-game road stretch.

Alabama held onto the top spot in the national rankings after clobbering Kentucky on the road.

LSU and Texas A&M, two teams in the SEC West that South Carolina avoids this season, are the next two teams ranked by the AP. LSU comes in at No. 6 after its home defeat of Florida while the Aggies move up two spots to No. 7 defeating Ole Miss on the road.

Clemson remains undefeated and ranked No. 3.

After the Gamecocks, Missouri was the biggest mover of the week jumping 11 spots up to No. 14 with its road victory over Georgia. The Tigers hold a perfect 6-0 record. The Bulldogs, with the loss, fall eight spots to No. 15 in the AP Poll.

With the loss to LSU, the Gators drop five spots to No. 22 in the poll. Auburn, which holds a 5-1 record, made its debut in the national rankings at No. 24. The SEC has eight teams ranked in the top 25, which is the first for any conference in the regular season history of the AP Poll.
