ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Members of the Dougherty County Parent Teacher Organization are encouraging more dads to be involved in the organization.
20 of its 50 members at Turner Elementary School are men. More than 100 men are currently involved in the entire school district. Parent Teacher Organization Representatives say men need to be constantly involved in their child's school to set a good example for their education.
"We have to figure out ways ok, how can we use a man when he comes to the school," said State PTO Representative Rance Pettibone. "Can we get him involved in reading, can we get him involved in the physical activities. How can we get him actually involved in those things."
PTO Representatives are encouraging all dads to attend their Title I forum October 29th in the gym at Second Mount Olive Church.
