ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards says he is going to ask for the maximum sentence for people convicted of running from police in high speed chases.

28 year old Vincent Jackson has been indicted after leading Albany-Dougherty Drug Agents on a dangerous chase in August.

After close to two minutes of the high speed chase on West Whitney Avenue, Jackson jumps from the moving SUV, and it rolls into a light pole. Look close, as the light pole narrowly missing a woman standing in her front yard.

"This is the kind of conduct that causes danger to the entire community.  Where people try to run from the police and they are involved with both the high speed chase and firearms," said Dougherty County D.A. Greg Edwards.

Prosecutors say Vincent Jackson was armed with a pistol, trying to sell marijuana when drug agents attempted to stop him. One of the charges Jackson was also indicted on was aggravated assault. Officials said the falling light pole endangered the woman's life.
