The Monroe Tornadoes cashed in on two second half Americus-Sumter Panther turnovers to pull away Thursday night, 34-10.
Monroe led 14-3 at half, and were stopped three-and-out on their first drive of the second half.
But the Panthers fumbled on the punt return, and Monroe recovered.
A few plays later, Tornadoes' senior QB Charles Stafford powered into the endzone on a QB draw.
The extra point was good, and Monroe pushed their lead to 21-3.
On the Panthers' next drive, poor ball security struck again.
On a third down handoff, the ball popped loose.
Junior DB Cornelius Jenkins scooped and scored, effectively putting the game out of reach.
Monroe is now 2-1 in Region 1-AAAA. Americus-Sumter falls to 2-1.
