Colquitt County Sheriff's Office offering safety seminars

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

The Colquitt County Sheriff's office is offering presentations and Q & A sessions to residents as we gear up for another holiday season. Lieutenant Tenero Bender says during this time of year, thefts are prevalent.

"Snatch and grabs types of thefts, a lot of entering autos, people leaving cell phones, tablets or even a gift that they purchase from a store left physically in their vehicle while they do their other shopping," Bender said.

Officials can also monitor your home when your not there.

"When someone is going out of town, or leaving their house or residence for a long period of time," Bender said. "They can call to get a special patrol and gladly go by and make a point to watch that property."

These presentations are available year-round. To request a presentation or have police monitor your property, you can contact the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office.
