ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

October is national dental hygiene month, and south Georgia dentists are stressing the importance of taking care of your teeth.

Dr. Brian Mann says you need to get your teeth cleaned twice a year, don't ignore problems that may arise, and watch out for the sweets.

"Being that it's October, a lot of candy make sure you control your candy intake, carb in take, which all reduce sugar, and also make sure you brush in the morning and at night," said Brian Mann, dentist, Mann Dental Care.

Mann also says you should brush at an angle toward your gums, so you don't miss spots.
