ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Dougherty Aviation Commission continues to look for ways to scale back the final phase of a major airport improvement project.

The bids for phase three, that includes tearing down the old terminal and building a new parking lot came in too high.

The commission asked the airport consultant and architect to go look for items to cut. They met Monday night over possible changes.

"We are going to try and satisfy all of the items that we want but be able to do it at a cheaper price, I'm not sure that will be able to be accomplished or what to degree that will be, but at least we are looking at it," said Yvette Aehle.

The consultants are looking at line items to cut. They'll present proposals to the aviation commission in a few weeks.
