ESPN analyst: Clowney is the "biggest joke in college football"

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

SEC college football firebrand and Alabama sports radio host Paul Finebaum is none too pleased with Jadeveon Clowney, calling out South Carolina's junior defensive end on ESPN Monday afternoon.

Appearing during one of the afternoon programs on the Four Letter Network, Finebaum said Clowney's behavior this season was "disgraceful."

Going further, Finebaum says the Rock Hill native has been the "biggest joke in college football."

Finebaum's comments come after Clowney's game-time decision to not play against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday due to a bruised rib.

Clowney has battled several injuries throughout the start of the 2013 season such as bone spurs and stomach viruses.

The decision surprised coach Steve Spurrier and defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward.

"We went through walkthrough earlier in the day and he said he was hurting, but I thought he was going to play," said Ward.

"I don't want to get into all of that," said Spurrier. "I will just say he told me he couldn't play. He said his ribs hurt, he couldn't run and said, 'I can't play.' I said, 'That's fine. You don't have to play,' and we'll move on."

Clowney, who is considered to be a top 3 pick in next year's NFL Draft, has listed two sacks thus far this season.
