ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Certified counselors from all across Georgia made a stop in Albany Saturday to help answer questions on housing.

A telethon style counseling event called "Call In to Connect" provided people from all over southwest Georgia with information on housing issues. People could walk in or call over the phone to talk with a counselor for assistance on foreclosure prevention, housing, and first time home buyer assistance.

"With everything that's going on with the economy right now, housing has become a huge issue. Fore closures has been on the rise the last 5-6 years. And people are just having a hard time right now so we just felt like this was the right time to offer this to our community," said Kerry Davis.

Over 15 agencies were represented at the telethon to help people with housing resources.
