Ole Miss welcomes Texas A&M Saturday. The Aggies are coming off a non-conference win over New Mexico. Coach Sumlin praises Ole Miss offensively, especially with Jordan Ta'amu taking over at quarterback.  "He's been able to operate that system on a high level of scoring a lot of points," Sumlin said. "They have some weapons, and at quarterback they haven't missed a beat." AUBURN, AL - Auburn's defense came up big, and quarterback Nick Marshall showed his big-play ability as the Tigers held off charging Ole Miss 30-22 Saturday night.

The fourth win of the still young season was one more than the Tigers scored in all of 2012.

Auburn sacked Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace on third and fourth down on the Rebels' last-gasp drive. Freshman Carl Lawson got the final of Auburn's six sacks. Marshall rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tigers improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the SEC. Ole Miss fell to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the league.

The offense carried Auburn early. The defense shined late.

Cody Parkey hit a 23-yard field goal with 3:02 left to give the Tigers a little cushion.

Marshall had more yards rushing than passing in the first half, thanks in part to a 16-yard scramble, a 28-yard run and a 5-yard touchdown keeper on an important drive that ended with 5:17 left in the second quarter.

Auburn commanded the scoreboard, 20-6, but the Rebels had most of the other numbers. The Rebels ran a whopping 51 plays and had the ball 21 minutes in the first half. Auburn ran just 27 plays and had the ball for nine minutes.

But Marshall's running ability and some early bursts from Tre Mason put Auburn ahead early, and the Rebels never could catch up.

The Tigers' first drive was a mix of run and pass. Marshall accounted for 61 total yards, and Mason ran and caught for 48 yards and a touchdown to give Auburn a 6-0 lead. The Tigers' try for two failed, and Ole Miss' Andrew Ritter's 42-yard field goal cut the lead in half halfway through the first quarter.

But Auburn sped away with a bigger leader when Robenson Therezie intercepted a pass and raced 78 yards for a touchdown and a 13-3 lead with 1:39 left in the first quarter.

It stayed there until Marshall ran Auburn in for a touchdown to make it 20-3.

Ole Miss answered when Ritter hit a 44-yard field goal with 44 seconds left in the half. He hit a 22-yard field goal on the Rebels' first drive of the second half to cut Auburn's lead to 20-9.
