People laced up their walking shoes in support of Down syndrome today.
About 70 walkers came out to raise money for the National Down Syndrome Society during the Buddy Walk at Legacy Park. This is the second year for the walk, and all the proceeds will go toward research. There are more than 400,000 people living with Down syndrome in the United States.
"We came out to support the National Down Syndrome Society. My son is three years old and has a diagnosis of Down syndrome, so it means a lot to us to raise money and awareness for the people who have down syndrome," said Betsy Griffin.
