ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

You can help Albany be named one of the best convention hosts in the south. Convention South magazine nominated Albany for a Readers' Choice Award.

The publication that caters to event planners and meeting attendees is asking people to vote for their favorite meeting sites.

They'll choose 150-locations in 15-states.   Leaders at the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau say being on that list would be great for the city.

"Because this gives us a chance to promote Albany, to put us on the map, we compete with places like Columbus, Macon, Valdosta for meeting places, and we want to be a part of that, and we'd like to rise above some of those meeting places," said Rashelle Beasley, Convention and Visitors Bureau Director.
