ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Officers are on the lookout for a man who led a state trooper on a high speed chase. The trooper tried to make a traffic stop a little before 6 PM Friday night on the Liberty Expressway between the Jefferson and North Slappey exits, but the driver sped off.

He ditched the car behind the Dollar Inn on North Slappey and ran off of 19.

Officers searched the Winding Way neighborhood in Lee County, but did not find the driver.      He's black, about 5'7", 165-pounds and was wearing a teal polo shirt and blue jeans.

"If you come in contact with this gentleman matching this description call GSP or APD or DCPD and somebody will respond," said Corporal Singletary, Georgia State Patrol.

If you think you know who the driver is, call 436-tips or 9-1-1.
