Thousands of Savannah area and Lowcountry residents have downloaded the free WTOC news app.

The app for iPhone, iPads, Blackberrys and Droid phones and tablets features breaking news alerts, livestreaming video of newscasts, gas price finder, sports scores, and video on demand - but there's a brand-new feature we wanted to share with you.

WTOC now delivers real-traffic information. All you have to do is download the app or update your current WTOC news app in the iTunes or Android Play stores.

Now you have the updated app in place, click on the MORE button in the upper right-hand corner.

Your screen will now show a traffic map. Just zoom in to get as close as you want.

If you see something you want to know more about, click the icon to learn more about what's slowing traffic down.

See this page to download the WTOC news app.

Tell us what you think about the app on our Facebook page or email us at community@wtoc.com.
