Braves set NLDS roster; Uggla left off

Posted: Updated:

The Atlanta Braves have released their roster for the National League division series against the Dodgers Wednesday, and 2B Dan Uggla was left off the list.

Uggla, the highest-paid player on the team this season, hit only .122 in 49 September at-bats after returning from eye surgery.

Uggla has lost playing time recently to Elliot Johnson, who is the likely starter at second base.

The three-time All-Star has struggled during his time in Atlanta.

This season was not much different.

Uggla hit 22 homers, but only batted .179.

Perhaps a surprise to Braves fans, OF B.J. Upton is on the postseason roster.

Upton, like Uggla, has been in a season-long slump in his first year with the Braves, hitting only .184.

Other notable roster snubs include P Paul Maholm (10-11, 4.41 ERA) and relief pitcher Scott Downs.
