Lee Co. robbery caught on video

LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Lee County officials are looking for a suspect they say robbed a convenience store at gunpoint.

Authorities say it happened at Zelmo's Citgo on U.S. 82 West a little after 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.

In the video a man comes into the store wearing a backpack and carrying a gun, wildly pointing it at the clerk. Police say he got away with a small amount of cash.

The suspect is described as between 5'5 and 5'9 in height and wearing a blue shirt and a red mask.

Investigators say they think he had been watching the store for some time. He ran away towards the Dougherty County line after the robbery.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
