Ballard murder trial will go to jury soon

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Dougherty County jury will soon get the case of the woman accused of killing her boyfriend.

Leslie Ballard, 36, is accused of stabbing Anthony Hartsfield on June 11, 2011 at their home on Cherry Avenue.

Investigators say she stabbed Hartsfield once with a stainless steel kitchen knife in front of four children.

The trial began last week, and has continued through today.

WALB will have the verdict when the jury returns it.
