Last week's action by three members of the Worth County Commission to fire E-911 director Kannetha Clem has many local residents angry.
It has also raised questions as to whether their action was legal.
That is certainly in question with the resignation of the county attorney, and two commissioners intentionally skipping the called meeting where Clem was fired.
Both of those commissioners, Billy McDonald and Bettye Bozeman, say they were advised by their attorneys to stay away to protect them from any liability.
County commissioners have the right to approve the hiring and firing of county personnel.
However, those personnel decisions must follow the law, especially the Georgia Open Records and Meetings Act.
