Junior League holds clay shooting fundraiser

A few shots fired in the air is what you can hear on any given day at Wynfield Plantation, but come next Saturday this place will be packed with visitors making twice as much noise.

Volunteers from Junior League of Albany will be holding their second Boot, Shoot and Boogie, a clay shooting fundraiser that supports local charities. And this year Junior League will be jumping on board with Children's Miracle Network.

"My son who is 7 now was in NICU for the first 14 days of his life. So, I'm definitely behind it 100 percent because I know exactly what it feels like," Junior League member Mandy Davis said.

They are also supporting Lily Pad, an organization that treats women of sexual abuse. Davis says it's important because as a woman you want to reach out and help other women in need.

"They're just very emotional, they're very grateful for all the support we give them, so it's a great honor to be a part of that organization to be able to do these great things," Davis shares.

For General Manager Kurt Guthrie, he looks forward to seeing people around Albany stop by and visit.

"Glad to have groups and programs come out, we do a lot of events out here, we do a lot of fundraisers an we're glad to have people in the community participate," Guthrie said.

Its an aim to show support in the neighborhood.
