A food and beverage concession area could soon come to the new airport terminal at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport. Caterer Daphne Woods expressed interest in being the vendor.
Monday night, the Albany Dougherty Aviation Commission granted permission to the airport staff to ask for proposals from architects for the concession area. Airport Director Yvette Aehle said, "She would be willing to provide fresh salads and sandwiches as well as be open at five o' clock in the morning, and so we're hoping that our conversations will move forward in a positive direction with her."
Aehle hopes to have the concession area open in the new terminal by spring or early summer.
