Burglar accidentally tells on himself

A man accused of stealing from a church accidentally told on himself. Crisp County Sheriff's investigators say this surveillance video shows Nathaniel Bass taking nearly $3,000 worth of items from First Baptist Church in Cordele.

Investigators say Bass recently got out of prison. They were able to track him down because he left an envelope containing his parole papers at the church. They say you should always keep your doors to protect your belongings and watch out for your neighborhood.

"I guess the biggest thing the community can do is make sure you secure your valuables and be a good witness, don't try to apprehend somebody," said Ben Bray, Sergeant, Crisp County Sheriff's office.

Investigators recovered the stolen items that included a computer, a camera, and a D-V-D player.
