TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

The Tift County High School Athletic Director says he will strictly enforce a rule to keep students safe during tonight's football game. Students in eighth grade and below are supposed to be accompanied by a parent during the entire game.

The rule has always been in place. Athletic Director, Rusty Smith plans to enforce it more strictly because so many unsupervised students are being dropped off at the games.

"We want everybody to come, we want the parents to come, we want to have a sell out crowd, but we want them to be there to watch the game, enjoy the game and when people need to go to the concession stands or the restroom, they don't have to worry about young unattended children running around," said Smith.

Tift County High School's game against Coffee High School kicks off at 8 o'clock tonight in Tifton.
