DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) -

National Hunting and Fishing Day is right around the corner  and a new study shows those activities boost the economy. The Georgia DNR reports people who spend money on outdoor recreation added more than $5.5 Billion dollars to the state's economy. Recreation also increased by more than 400,000 participants since 2006. Some taxidermists say they've been busy and have seen an increase in participation among young people.

"The younger generation is starting to go hunting and fishing and exploring the outdoors, so that is a positive affect when the kids is out, said Gary Braswell the owner of True Life Creation Taxidermy. "Because it's always said when you take a kid hunting, you won't e hunting for your kids."

National Hunting and Fishing Day is this Saturday.
