VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Two Valdosta men are facing burglary charges after Police say they tried to steal appliances from a Moody Airman's home that was burglarized and set on fire just a couple of weeks earlier.

Lawrence Parrish, 26, and Cortez Howell, 24, have been charged with Burglary.

Police say officers responded to the home on Deborah Drive after a neighbor called to report two men taking a washing machine from the home and placing it in a grey Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Officers were able to spot the car shortly after on East Park Avenue. Parrish and Howell were arrested and Police were able to recover the washing machine as well as a clothes dryer.

Both suspects were taken to the Lowndes County Jail.

The two arrests come after the home was burglarized and set on fire by a man who lived just a few houses down from the airman.

Charles Hawkins, 24, was charged with arson, burglary, and obstruction of an officer. He was arrested and jailed after leading officers on a short chase.

Officials say the home is unlivable after the fire was put out.
