Six arrested in drug sweep

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Chatham Metro Police arrested half a dozen people Wednesday evening during a drug sweep.

The investigation started after a series of shootings and murders in the Live Oak area in Savannah's Eastside on July 30. A 15 year old and an 18 year old were shot to death on East 39th and Cedar streets.  The suspect, David Daniels Jr., is still on the run.

Police raided three homes on East 38th street. Inside they found found cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and MDMA, commonly known as "Molly" .

Marlon McCray, Ricky Maurice Johnson, Dominique Antwan Giles, Latoya Renee Young-Evans, Malcolm Everett Orr, and James Montrell Wong Jr. are all in jail. Five are facing a variety of drug related charges, Wong is facing a probation violation charge.
