Company providing DUI services to courts under investigation

The company, New Hope Counseling, that provides DUI offender counseling and testing is under investigation. The company provides services to several NE Georgia counties.

The GBI confirmed it searched New Hope's Gainesville and Cumming location on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, offenders in Forsyth County's program were told the court severed its relationship with New Hope. The County's DUI program will now be handled internally until a new company is found, according to the DUI court coordinator.

According to the GBI, Enotah Judicial Circuit Superior Judge Raymond George asked for the investigation. The concern was over the purchase of equipment and supplies purchased by New Hope, but not provided to the Enotah courts. The Judge reported Lumpkin and Union Counties had minimal supplies and equipment, according to the GBI.

CBS Atlanta went to the New Hope Counseling location in Cumming. The receptionist said no one was able to speak without an appointment, and there was no one to call to provide information. A representative from New Hope Counseling has not returned the request for comment.
