ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Following the death of another South Georgia motorcyclist Tuesday, advocates are urging riders to join in the Ride Bright program for protection.

56 year old Dan Harden, an Albany Fire Department inspector, was killed Tuesday morning riding his Harley Davidson in Lee County. Troopers say a driver apparently did not see him, and turned in front of him.

Motorcycle dealers are selling more powerful lights and urging riders wear bright colored shirts, jackets, and helmets to make themselves more visible.

Hog Wild Motorcycles owner Billy Potter said "Wearing a bright orange or lime green t-shirt instead of the old traditional black t-shirt. Ride bright so they can see you. And make sure your headlight is on all the time and you have the orange running lights on the front of the bike."

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety says 86 motorcycle riders have been killed on Georgia roads so far this year. That is a ten percent decrease from this same time one year ago.
