The Albany Fire Department will get a new storage facility.

Tuesday night, city commissioners approved spending $351,000 in sales tax revenue on a building at the fire department's training headquarters to house equipment now spread out around the county.

Merck Chemical also gave $100,000 to the project.

The commission also voted to give R&M Market Place $89,000 to fix up to homes for low to moderate income families. The houses are on Doncaster Drive and Corn Avenue.
