SILVER CITY, NM (CBS5) -

Flooding washed away several roads in Gila National Forest and is causing problems for some visitors.

Gila National Forest spokeswoman Andrea Martinez said the Catron County area received the majority of flood damage.

Crews are currently working to restore the main arterial roads that are washed out, eroded or muddy, according to Reserve District Ranger John Pierson.

Pierson said several vehicles have gotten stuck.

Martinez said hunters, campers and general visitors should check with the local ranger district office for current road information, but said there are still many options for visitors in the 3.3 million-acre forest.
