TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Safe Kids Savannah will hold a free water safety and fishing event this weekend. 

The day of free fun is being held in conjunction with Georgia's free fishing day. 

The event will be held Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Tybee Island Pier for children ages 5 to 12 years old. All participants will receive a rod and reel, bait, and a tackle box.

Entry is limited and pre-registration is required. No registration will be allowed on the day of the event. Registration forms can be picked up at the Chatham County Aquatic Center on Sallie Mood Drive or downloaded from www.aquatic.chathamcounty.org
