Valdosta Police look for man's shooter

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police are looking for a gunman who shot a man in a parking lot.

Officials say 29-year-old Edward Mincey of Homerville showed up at South Georgia Medical Center Sunday night around 9:15 PM with a bullet wound.

Witnesses told police Mincey was talking with a group of men in the Park East Apartments parking lot when the shot was fired.

So far, police have made no arrests.

"He was not totally cooperative. He was under some pain medication probably, or starting to go under some medication so we couldn't really talk to him at that point. So were trying to figure out exactly now what happened," said Capt. Bobbi McGraw, VPD.

Police say Mincey remains at South Georgia Medical Center in stable condition. If you have information about the shooting, call Valdosta Police at 229-293-3145.

A Homerville man is recovering after Police say he was shot Sunday night in Valdosta.

Valdosta Police say the shooting happened in the parking lot of 1635 East Park Ave. when the victim, 29 year old Edward Mincey, was talking to a group of residents.

According to a report, Mincey was taken to the South Georgia Medical Center and reported to be in stable condition.

Detectives are still investigating. No motive for the shooting has been established.
