ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany church held a special service for their members Sunday.

It was men and women's day at Greater Pines Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Albany. The annual event featured music and services starting at 8 am. Pastor James Bush, who is also a Dougherty County School board member, says he wanted to take time to show his congregation some appreciation.

"Here, what we try to do is teach and preach God's word, the gospel and I pray that when people leave here today that they will be better equipped to go out and do God's will, said Pastor James Bush.

The church has been around for more than two decades. Sunday's guest speaker was Reverend Kenneth Bush, the nephew of James Bush.
