SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

64 Senior Cadets at the Benedictine Military School received their commission in a ceremony Saturday evening.

The JRTOC commissioning ceremony was held in the schools gymnasium. The event included an invocation, posting of colors, national anthem, and remarks by honored guest Col. Richard E La Rosa, a US retired senior army instructor and Major Matthew Brady of the United States Army.

The presentation of commissionees and commander's sabre took place after their remarks.

One of the signature moments of commissioning is when the senior class assumes a leadership role for the school.

The seniors, once commissioned, each get a specific role in the brigade. They will have responsibility for performing the duties and functions relative to their assigned roles as JROTC officers.
