TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Safe Kids Savannah to hold a free water safety and fishing event for kids ages 5-12 on Saturday Sept. 28 at the Tybee Pier and Pavilion on Tybee Island. 

In partnership with Georgia's free fishing day the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Safe Kids are organizing the 4th annual Kids Fishing and Coastal Water Safety Event to promote fishing as a family activity and water safety.

Entry is limited to 144 applicants and preregistration is required. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Tybee Pavilion on Sept. 28. Registration forms can be picked up and dropped off at the Chatham County Aquatic Center, no on-site registration will be allowed on event day.
