Albany State keeping the faith after 0-2 start

The Albany State Golden Rams are far from dead on the football field.

But at 0-2, they're nowhere close to where they want to be.

Head coach Mike White calls this Saturday's game against Elizabeth City State a "must win."

No team wants to fall to 0-3, but certainly not the Rams, who pegged this a comeback year after a disappointing 2012.

But White says the team's leaders are doing their job, keeping the team's morale up and pushing despite being winless.

"Our leaders have done a good job," White says.  Our seniors have done a good job at being positive, and going forward with getting ready for this game.

"It'll start a train to get rolling," says WR Jessie Watkins of the elusive first win. "Once that train gets to rolling, we'll be a force to deal with."

ASU lost a heartbreaker at ECSU last year, missing two extra points and falling 13-12.

The Rams look for revenge when they kick off against the Vikings at 7 p.m. at the ASU Coliseum Saturday night.
