Design feature takes shape on new Broad Ave. Bridge
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Progress continues on construction of the new Broad Avenue Bridge in downtown Albany.
Crews have poured the first pillar on the east side of the Flint River, and it includes an interesting design feature. They aren't real rocks, but the support is made to look as if it includes river rocks.
The area will be painted to match the limestone finish on the Flint Riverquarium and the gateway arch over Oglethorpe Boulevard.
The bridge should open in about a year and a half.
