RINCON, GA (WTOC) -

Fire crews responded to a structure fire in Rincon early Friday morning.

Rincon Fire Chief Corey Rahn said a call came in around 4:30 a.m. to a fully involved structure fire on Old Augusta Road S. The caller reported seeing flames shooting high into the air.

Officials say they believe the home was vacant and do not think anyone was inside at the time. No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames quickly, and now they are monitoring hot spots.

There was no power running to the home, which sits on state property. Another structure nearby also caught fire, so the state fire marshal will be brought out Friday morning to look into the cause.

Officials had to close Old Augusta Rd. S between High Point Drive and Chimney Road for a couple of hours, but the road reopened to traffic at 7 a.m.

The fire is under investigation.
