Cancer ties hold fundraiser for a family

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

People gathered at Merry Acres tonight to celebrate the life of a man who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Cancer Ties raises money for individual cancer patients. Gerry Gray was chosen to benefit from tonight's fundraiser.

Unfortunately, he died in July, so the money will go to support his family.

"We raise money for these families to be able to do what they need to do with this money, we don't specify how it's used that way the things that they need to use it for, the light bill, the car payment, the house payment, whatever," said Carrie Hutchinson, President, Cancer ties.

Cancer Ties will hold another fundraiser in the spring to support another family dealing with cancer.
