LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

Police in Gwinnett County showed gun owners how to stay safe. The police department held a firearms seminar in Lawrenceville Thursday night.

The room was packed with people concerned about their own safety as well as the safety of their families.

"I have a young daughter at home and I wanted to make sure I was doing everything I could to make sure she didn't get into any danger with the firearms or anything like that," said Michael Keys Jr., who attended the seminar.

Officers covered a number of concerns including Georgia laws on guns, how to obtain a carry permit and personal defense.
